Information for foreigners to consider when incorporating a Singapore company
Singapore law does not allow foreign individuals or foreign corporate entities to self-register a Singapore company. You must engage a professional service provider firm to register your Singapore Company.

Foreigners wishing to start-up a Singapore corporation can consider these 2 options
Option 1 – you have no plan to re-locate to Singapore
- There is no special Singapore visa requirement to register a private limited company
- You can operate your company from overseas and visit Singapore on a visitor visa pass regularly.
- You need to have a local resident director as this is mandatory requirement.
Option 2 – you have plan to relocate to Singapore to manage your company
- You are required to obtain an Employment Pass or Entrepreneur Pass work pass from Ministry of Manpower, Singapore.
- After you obtained your work permit, you can act as the local resident director of your company. If you need nominee directorship, most of the time it is for transmission period only.
